I got to roast this V-Max for one hour. Not a zx-14, but lots of fun.

I hear they don't do much after the extremely strong take off. I had an older mdel pull ahead of me from a gentle takeoff from a light. I wasn't trying to take off hard either but i was impressed by the other bikes low end torque.

Rook you nailed it, hard out of the hole. This bike breaks traction easy in first gear and continues to track straight while doing it. This bike also has a large shift light giving heads up on the next gear change. This is a big bike that does not feel heavy. As a rider you sit straight up into the wind with no wind protection what so ever...well maybe the tack. What I thought was strange was the fact that this bike only gets 120KM per tank of fuel..... For me I think that is just retarded. Where can you go with that little fuel range...... Me no understand that one? . Still really EASY to launch, SO every time I stopped, I left the lights like my ass was on fire. Not once was I scared. The Zx launched hard like that, would soon put you on your ass. I enjoyed my time riding the big V. I tried to goat the owner into a little drag race but he would have no part of it.......For Now.

That V Max has nothing on the zx14 though.
Mass, Even the owner which I do not know that well repeated your comments exactly when he got off my bike plus this little beauty "It seems Like The Power band Never Ends". I think the ZX scared him a little lol.
I'm just glad I got a chance to ride the big V-Max. This bike has had lots written about it and I was glad to experienced it first hand. I must say it is great when the guys switch the bikes around It reminds you of what you like or don't like about your own machines. For me the ride just reafirms that I am not ready for the upright style riding. If money was no object I would still have one parked next to my R1,zx10,cbr& 80,000$ Duc and many many others.

I have a 2002 Vmax I bought for $5000. Its good bike for what it is. It has allot of character, and sounds aweseome with a 4-1 pipe, no baffle! Bahahahaa... Sounds like a small blog chev.
I use mine for doubling the wife and daughter for day long rides.
When I tell ppl I bought a Vmax as a family bike they look at me like a retard...lol
I get 180km to a tank, riding 150 km/hr with blasts faster for passing, running it pretty hard.

I LIKES those roads Dubious!.Only "flaw" I see in the new V-Max-that friggin rectangle cross brace on the engine.Shoulda come up with somethin a little less "I need this brace to keep my engine in place,it's SO POWERFUL"!.Kinda depreciates the mystique for me.Note to self-"stop being so critical".She is a sweet bike.
